This is one of the most wonderful places we have ever booked. It was centrally located in the Medina, had sweeping 360 degree views of the town and the harbor, the made a lovely breakfast and served us mint tea when we checked in. When we needed dinner recommendations, shopping information, tour info, anything - they had nothing but good advice and a wonderful, kind manner. The house itself had a wonderful stillness to it that was so relaxing and stress-reducing. In the evening, when we came in after dark, my daughter and I were met by a charming doorman who let us in and made sure we had whatever we needed. The room overnight was silent and still and we slept better than we do at home.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel has great views of the sea. I appreciated having central heating in the room. It was nice to have tea and coffee making equipment available. The location of the hotel is fantastic, just a short walk from a wonderful square. Overall, the experience was very good.

A great place. Extremely friendly and helpful (and very multilingual) staff, I can't praise them enough. The hotel is beautifully decorated, in a moorish style. The location is great, very close to the port side entrance of the Medina. It's a great way to see Tanger - a quite haven in the busy Medina. And very good value for money.
Tough to find anything, but the bathroom, while beautiful, is a bit impractical (be careful with the hot tap, the water is very hot!)

The location of this place is amazing as it's close to a large mosque, and the en suite room is a nice size with a shared bathroom.

Rooftop area (with interesting books to read) for breakfast and for relaxing is stunning.
This riad has a ceiling which makes rooms on the lower floors slightly musty-smelling. More could be done to explain how to get to the riad (e.g. it's opposite the Continental hotel, which does seem to be well-known. )

The best things about Dar Jameel are the interior arabesque design of the hotel, the breakfast, and the staff, especially the "guardian." We didn't get his name, but he is the night watchman that opens the door for you when you come at night. He was a truly genuine person and great example of Moroccan hospitality. This guy was so helpful and he actually ended up showing us around the Medina the second day, he watched out for us as far as taking us to the good shops and keeping the street salesmen off of us. This man even went as far as to take us all the way back to the port to catch our ferry, he definitely made the Tangiers trip memorable.
Nothing really, other than that it might be hard to find your way back to the hotel at night.
